This Year & The Work That Was Formed in the Hidden

There is a kind of work that can only be made in silence.
It does not respond well to pressure.
It does not reveal itself on command.
It requires waiting not as delay, but as devotion.
As December draws to a close today, I can see more clearly now what this year and more importantly what this latest season has been doing in me. The quiet was not an absence of productivity. It was a different kind of labour. An interior one. A forming that happened below the surface, where roots take hold before anything green appears.
Much of what will be shared in the coming weeks was shaped here in prayer, in slowness, in the gentle discipline of attention. Not created to meet a market, but to meet a moment. Not designed to impress, but to serve.
I think often of the table.
A table does not rush its guests.
It does not explain itself.
It simply waits as it is set, steady and ready to receive.
This is how I want to step into the new year.
Not with a list of demands or declarations.
But with an offering.
What I have made has been made slowly. With listening. With reverence. With the belief that beauty, when born from prayer, carries something more than form ~ it carries presence.
If you are also standing at the edge of a new season, unsure how to cross it, perhaps the invitation is not to leap, but to prepare. To notice what has already been given. To trust that what formed in the hidden will know when it is time to be seen.
January will be here tomorrow, so for now, the table is set.

And you are welcome.

Happiest of New Year to you Lisa, I look forward to reading even more in 2026
