Art Spotlight (self portrait): Arms Wide to the Wild

There is a moment, right here with this self portrait, where surrender becomes strength.
In the creating of this piece, I wanted to show the wind on my skin reminding myself that I am still alive,
and the sea whispers don’t rush healing ~ it will come when it needs too.
I am standing with arms open, not in defeat, but in a brave invitation to the horizon:
“I am here. I’m ready to breathe again.”
The waves carry stories of what I have survived.
The tide attempts to pull away the weight of yesterday.
But in the moment, I am small yet unshaken choosing to remain rooted in the sand (and life).

This is not a portrait of longing.
It is a portrait of returning.
Returning to the body that has held me.
Returning to the hope that never left.
Returning to the vast sacredness of simply being.
Here, at the edge of the deep, I created me with a heart that is wide enough to hold both the ache and the awakening.
