Christmas Eve

Tonight, the world has grown quieter, whether it intends to or not.
Shops have closed. Lights have dimmed. Conversations soften. And somewhere beneath the noise that has surrounded us all month, there is a small, steady stillness waiting to be noticed.
This is where Christmas begins.
Not in spectacle.
Not in perfection.
But in a quiet willingness to receive.
I imagine the stable not as a place of awe, but of availability. A space that did not try to impress. A space that simply made room. And because it did, Love arrived.
This year, I am letting Christmas come to me the same way.
Not asking my life to be resolved.
Not asking my heart to be tidy.
Only asking myself to remain open.
If your year has been heavy…
If parts of your story feel unfinished…
If joy has arrived quietly rather than triumphantly…
You are not missing Christmas.
You are meeting it honestly.
A Christmas Night Prompt
Where have I made quiet room this year, even without realising it?
You might write only a sentence. That is enough.
A Christmas Eve Prayer
God of gentle arrival,
Thank You for coming quietly.
Thank You for choosing nearness over noise,
Presence over perfection.
Tonight, I make room,
Just as I am.
Amen 🙏
May this night hold you softly.
May light find you where you are.
May Love arrive without demand.
Merry Christmas, dear one.
