Here she stands quietly unadorned, unhidden.
Every line of her body tells a story of loss, surrender, and a slow return to breath.
I had this sketch printed and framed, not knowing where she would sit. Oh, but upon seeing her, I knew she absolutely had to reside right here in my meditation space. It felt right that she should live in a place where I come to rest, to listen, and to be still. This space will soon hold the presence of many others through my online meditations. I wanted her story to be part of that shared sacred ground.
The Journey of Unraveling
Through trauma and chronic illness, I was stripped bare. Layer by layer, the false coverings, survival patterns, striving, and shame have all been peeled away. What remained was the tender truth of being. Not broken, not unworthy—simply bare and breathing free.
My art has always shown and told what words could not, and they always will. This piece reminds me that even in the unraveling, beauty can rise quietly from what remains. The lines don’t shout; they whisper:
You are still here. You are still whole. You are still becoming.
Embracing the Stillness
In the stillness of my meditation space, I find a sanctuary. It is here that I reconnect with my essence. The gentle hum of my breath becomes a reminder of resilience. Each inhalation is a step toward healing. Each exhalation releases the weight of past burdens.
I invite you to find your own stillness. Seek that quiet corner where you can breathe freely. Allow yourself to be present. You are worthy of this moment. You are deserving of peace.
A Quiet Prayer
God of tenderness,
when life strips me bare, teach me not to turn away from what is real.
Meet me in the quiet spaces of my own becoming.
Let my breath return gently to its rhythm, and remind me that freedom is born in the honesty of simply being.
Amen.
Journal Prompt
What have you had to let go of to begin breathing freely again?
How does your body remember and release the places where you once felt hidden or confined?
The Art of Healing
Art is a powerful tool for healing. It allows us to express what we often cannot say. In moments of pain, creativity becomes a lifeline. I encourage you to explore your own artistic expressions. Whether through painting, writing, or music, let your emotions flow.
Creating can be a form of meditation. It invites us to be present. It helps us process our experiences. Allow your creativity to guide you toward healing. Embrace the journey, and remember that it is okay to feel.
Finding Connection
In our shared experiences, we find connection. We are not alone in our struggles. Each story is a thread in the fabric of our collective humanity. I invite you to share your journey. Your voice matters. Your story can inspire others.
Let’s create a community where we uplift one another. Together, we can navigate the complexities of life. Together, we can find hope in the midst of hardship.
