The Ground Beneath My Boots

This first week of October has been full of movement, of making, and of moments that have asked me to pause and breathe it all in.

So here’s to reflecting out here on God’s country;

There’s something about being on the road that draws me closer to the heart of things. The dust, the open space, the hum of long days ~ they strip away the noise until only the essentials remain: faith, breath, and the steady rhythm of purpose.

My boots have touched a lot of ground this week, and each place has reminded me that stillness isn’t about stopping, it’s about being grounded, even while moving.

Commissions have filled my days, yet each piece has felt like a quiet prayer and a conversation between my hands and the Spirit who guides them. In between, I’ve found small pauses of peace: a sunrise, a can of beer on the rusty old drum ~ a reminder that the work and the rest both belong to God.

Stillness as strength , it’s beginning to feel less like a lesson and more like a way of being.

So here’s to walking the road with faith in our steps, art in our hands, and grace in the dust that follows.
