There are moments inside the studio when I become deeply aware that I am not creating alone.
Not in a loud or overwhelming way but through a quiet sense of accompaniment.
A feeling that the lives of those who came before us continue to echo forward through the ways we create, nurture, endure, remember, and carry love into ordinary life.
Over time, genealogy has become something much deeper to me than names written onto a family tree.
It has become relationship.
A gentle noticing of the women, mothers, labourers, believers, artists, and survivors whose stories still quietly shape the way I move through the world now.
And perhaps that is what The Quiet Company We Keep podcast is truly about.
Not simply remembering the past but recognising the quiet company that continues to walk beside us in the present.
Today’s episode, The Ones Who Sit Beside Me, is the beginning of that conversation.
A slow conversation about lineage, creativity, memory, faith, and the unseen companionship we often carry without fully realising it.
So wherever this Wednesday finds you,
I invite you to make a warm cup of tea, settle in gently, and listen for a little while.
Perhaps, in your own way, you may begin noticing the quiet company beside you too.
However you arrive, there is a place for you here.
You may listen…
You may read…
You may see…
And in your own way, find the quiet company you’ve been needing.
