Unveiling the Inspiration Behind 'Pucker Up' Tee Supporting Women's Mental Health

Today's journal page opens up about why Studio Kre'at have created an item of wearable art this month of September, 2025.

In a world where fashion often feels superficial, the 'Pucker Up' tee breaks the mold. It is more than just a stylish item; it embodies a meaningful cause: supporting women’s mental health. This unique piece not only makes a statement but also raises awareness about the important conversation surrounding mental health. In this post, we’ll explore the inspiring journey behind the 'Pucker Up' tee, its design, and the significant role it plays in supporting the Liptember Foundation.

The Concept of Wearable Art

Wearable art transcends the idea of traditional clothing; it serves as a platform for self-expression and storytelling. The 'Pucker Up' tee exemplifies this beautifully by marrying creative design with a critical cause. The idea emerged from a desire to create apparel that is both visually appealing and impactful, uplifting the lives of women facing mental health challenges.

In creating the tee, the goal of artist Lisa Raie is to ignite conversations about mental health, particularly focusing on breaking the stigma associated with it, this September 2025. The tee empowers wearers to express their support for mental health awareness openly. For instance, when a person wears this tee at a local café, to the shopping centre or during an event, it opens the door to discussions that might not otherwise happen.

The Inspiration Behind the Design

The design of the 'Pucker Up' tee draws inspiration from themes of resilience, empowerment, and positivity. Bursting with vibrant colors and bold graphics, it symbolizes strength in the face of adversity. The signature motif of a woman's face covered with bright flowers and her red lips puckering serves as an encouraging reminder that we can all face life’s challenges head on.

The piece of art was created earlier this year and as Lisa Raie decided to take part in the Liptember Foundation campaign her goal was to use this piece of art into the tee as a way to create conversations through her art and her firsthand experience with mental health. By weaving her art and own stories into the design, the tee becomes more than apparel; it reflects shared struggles and triumphs. Lisa Raie, has wandered a long winding journey battling complex childhood trauma, anxiety, depression and multiple chronic illness and disease and why she has brought forward her artwork to this tee which she hopes will resonate deeply with anyone that has similar experiences. This real life connection gives wearers a sense of belonging and understanding.

Supporting the Liptember Foundation

A key element to the 'Pucker Up' tee's creation is to create awareness for the Liptember Foundation, who is dedicated to women’s mental health initiatives. Luke Morris the CEO and founder of Liptember says "Our vision, mission and values are proudly aligned with the needs of our community and Australian women."

Every purchase of the "pucker up" tee contributes $10 to the foundation’s mission to provide essential resources and support for women facing mental health challenges.

By selling 50 tees, we aim to raise $500 to support the work of the Liptember Foundation that will benefit thousands of women. This artistic creation is not merely a marketing ploy; it is a genuine effort to create much needed support, assistance and change.

The Impact of Wearable Art

The 'Pucker Up' tee functions as a powerful advocacy tool. Each time someone wears this tee, they become an ambassador for mental health awareness. It encourages discussions in various settings, from social meet ups to community events. The tee effectively becomes an icebreaker, allowing wearers to share their stories or offer support to others, cultivating a sense of community and understanding.

Moreover, its visibility in public spaces helps normalise conversations about mental health. Research shows that open discussions can encourage individuals to seek help. The 'Pucker Up' tee is not merely a fashion choice; it is a step toward reducing stigma and fostering an environment where seeking help is accepted and encouraged.

Reflecting on the Impact

The 'Pucker Up' tee symbolises hope, resilience, and community. Through its eye catching design our hope is that our small studio can raise at least $500 for the Liptember Foundation and it's significantly supports women's mental health. Each time an individual wears this tee, they contribute to a vital movement that seeks to reduce the silence surrounding women's mental health issues.

As we navigate the complexities of mental health, the 'Pucker Up' tee is a reminder that no one is alone in their struggles. Together, we can strive for a world where mental health conversations are open, supported, and understood. Next time you spot someone in the 'Pucker Up' tee, remember: it is more than just clothing; it represents a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of women everywhere.
